So that we can find a therapy program more likely to be of benefit for you, we have a range of assessment tools we will use to more closely address the underlying causes of the symptoms and feelings you experience. It is also part of our duty of care to ensure we are delivering safe and effective therapy.
Referrals and Rebates
If you are booked in to see one of our Psychologists, you will need a Mental Healthcare Plan, assigned by a GP, in order to claim any benefit from Medicare. If you are seeing one of our specialists (i.e. a Psychiatrist) a referral from a GP is helpful so that they have a background on your condition. Please note that assessments may not be covered by Medicare. Depending on your level of cover, you may be eligible for reimbursement from a private health insurer.
We ask all patients to be aware of the time commitment needed when doing a neuromodulation program (i.e. Neurofeedback, TMS). We understand that life happens and we will always try to work in with your schedule, but ideally you would be looking to attend regular appointments of at least two times per week in order for you to get the most benefit. But remember, the idea is that it is a short-term program helping you for the long-term.
Not sure if this is the right approach for you or a loved one?
