Andrew has spent several years as a Psychologist within a private practice setting. His focus has been on administering comprehensive psychological assessments and implementing individual therapy to children, adolescence and adults. Andrew also has previous experience working in NGOs, remote therapy as well as hospital settings.
He finds it can be common for clients to feel unsure about where to start or how to go about making those first steps to self-improvement. With this in mind, Andrew is focused on working together to develop tangible and achievable ways to cope and manage their struggles.
Andrew understands that traditional approaches to psychological treatment may not be able to fully address the physiological and neurological components of mental health and is open to exploring neuromodulation techniques with his clients.
Neuromodulation techniques have a promising history and growing body of evidence to indicate they are beneficial in the long-term for targetting these areas, particularly for sleep, mood, attention and hyperactivity. Andrew is actively building on his knowledge and expertise in this area by working with the neuroCare Group.
He strives to work collaboratively with his clients to find solutions that help them move forward in their life.
Andrew has completed a Diploma that is equivalent to the Master of Professional Psychology when first completing his accreditation as a Registered Psychologist. He also chose to work towards gaining specialty qualifications in 2019 and is close to completing the Master of Psychology (Clinical) program.
